More than half of SMBs breached in the past year

No business is too small to evade a cyber attack or data breach, and businesses across all industries are impacted by this threat. In fact, more than 50% of SMBs across North America have been breached in the last 12 months, according to a new study commissioned by Keeper Security, and conducted by the Ponemon Institute.

A study by research firm IDC carried out on behalf of Carbonite has revealed that over 80% of small to medium sized businesses (SMBs) have experienced downtime in the past, and that the costs associated with this downtime conservatively range from $82,200 to $256,000 for a single event.

Small and medium sized business (SMBs) in the UK are missing out on possible insurance deals that could be available to them if only they had a business continuity plan in place. This is according to a survey conducted by Cloud Direct of more than 500 UK SMBs.
