​ISO publishes 22316:2017 – Security and resilience - Organizational resilience - Principles and attributes

The International Organization for Standardization has recently published a new standard that provides guidance to enhance organizational resilience for any size or type of organization. This international standard - ISO 22316:2017 - defines organizational resilience as: “the ability of an organization to absorb and adapt in a changing environment”.

With an increasing volume of conversation taking place around the concept of ‘organizational resilience’, business continuity management professionals are taking advantage of this to expand their own remit and improve their career opportunities. These are the findings of a new report published jointly by PwC and the Business Continuity Institute.

Two thirds (64%) of CEOs admit that the concept of organizational resilience is inconsistently understood across their business, despite 70% believing it to be vital to the long-term viability of their operation. This is according to research commissioned by BSI.
