I think use of the notification systems in ‘peacetime’ has to be limited to ensure people don’t feel they are plagued by messages. However, I do feel that they could be a very powerful tool for raising awareness of business continuity within an organisation and providing helpful information to staff.

Business Continuity Institute research has revealed that while uptake is high when it comes to organizations having an emergency communications plans, two thirds of those organizations who do not have one would only consider adopting them in the event of a business affecting event.
